One day, me and a friend were talking about random stuff when he said there was a land rover on EBay in York (where I was at the time) and said we should go and look at it.
After finding it on EBay with only 18 minutes left at about £98, we thought we may as well stick £150 on for a laugh. 18 minutes later we had bought a land rover for £102.
The EBay pictures looked worse than it was, though the chassis was completely shot. I towed it back to my house a few days later after paying 1/2 each. A member on the Series-2 Club had pointed out that it used to be some form of police land rover. After a good inspection I was quite convinced it was. Then my friend found a picture in a book of his. My land rover reg is YUU 199T, the one in the book was YUU 197T.
There was nothing to it but to buy the other 1/2 off my friend and restore it.
I have bought a new Richards Chassis for it, a 2.5 petrol engine and loads of spares. The pictures show most of the restoration.
