Maartin Schot’s IIB Camper.

This camper conversion belongs to Maartin Schot from the Netherlands, here’s what he has to say about it.

my chassis no is 33100001A, but I got it without engine and transmission. I
attached some photo's of my IIB with my IIa 88", a picture of my IIB on a
trailer on the way from Portugal (where it had been stood for more than 8 years)
to The Netherlands, and some pictures taken a the Dutch Land Rover Sort-out. I'm
driving to some deep ruts there, which kept some Defenders standing...
I did up the IIB during 2 years, and it's currently fitted with the Nissan
Patrol Sd33 diesel engine and 'box, and a 24v electric system. This came from
the tow car I used to get it from Portugal. That was a quite eventful journey,
plodding along at 55 km/h on the motorway.
It was in use with a company named Bates Sound, and I believe in use as a kind
of mobile radio vehicle for events etc. Currently I'm fitting it out as a
camper. I took it on trips to the Champagne area and to Portugal. The wind noise
is quite something, and side winds affect it quite badly, but it makes a nice
vehicle to camp in. It does a steady 90 km/h on the motorway. I try to keep the
vehicle in a period, as opposed to original state. The clatter from the diesel
engine certainly helps, it's no refined turbodiesel.
