Cardwell
is an Australian export truck, originally a 2.6 petrol, and utilised as a fire
tender by the Central Fire Authority (CFA) in a small Village named Cardwell.
After
being discharged from the CFA Cardwell has been fitted with a dual range Eaton
rear axle, and also a Ford straight 6 petrol engine, whilst his front end
panels have been cannibalised to keep another Forward Control in the
The
vehicle was recently purchased by an Australian Forward Control and Series I
enthusiast who owns another IIB (known as Tooby) to be rebuilt for transporting her
series ones to shows.
Cardwell,
named after the village he operated from is currently awaiting restoration,
with a collection of parts being gathered (including a full set of front end
panels) and a new rear end for the chassis being fabricated form the IIB
chassis drawings available in the technical section on this site.
