33100095A – Cardwell

Cardwell is an Australian export truck, originally a 2.6 petrol, and utilised as a fire tender by the Central Fire Authority (CFA) in a small Village named Cardwell.

After being discharged from the CFA Cardwell has been fitted with a dual range Eaton rear axle, and also a Ford straight 6 petrol engine, whilst his front end panels have been cannibalised to keep another Forward Control in the Victoria area running.

The vehicle was recently purchased by an Australian Forward Control and Series I enthusiast who owns another IIB (known as Tooby) to be rebuilt for transporting her series ones to shows.

Cardwell, named after the village he operated from is currently awaiting restoration, with a collection of parts being gathered (including a full set of front end panels) and a new rear end for the chassis being fabricated form the IIB chassis drawings available in the technical section on this site.
